about me

Who I am

I'm Alireza Zarifian, a developer from Iran with 3 years of experience across full-stack development and network security. I started with web design, moved into Python and backend development, and eventually got pulled deep into the security side of things.

I'm self-taught — no bootcamp, no classroom. Just curiosity, late nights, and a lot of broken code and broken packets that eventually worked. Every project and pentest teaches me something I couldn't have learned any other way.

On the dev side I work with Python and modern web stacks. On the security side I focus on network security, vulnerability assessment, and hardening Linux systems. I like understanding how things break so I can build them to last.

When I'm not coding or scanning networks, I'm reading about new attack vectors, contributing to open-source, or helping other beginners get unstuck.

Python JavaScript API
Network Scanner
A Python tool to scan local networks, detect open ports, identify services, and flag potential vulnerabilities. Custom-built for hands-on security learning.
Python Security Scapy
Web Automation Bot
Full-stack project combining a Python backend with a clean JS frontend. Automates repetitive web tasks, handles auth flows, and logs results to a live dashboard.

journey

How I got here

Self-taught, step by step. 3 years of building, breaking, and learning.

2024 — now
Network Security Engineering
Self-directed
Deep-dived into offensive and defensive security — penetration testing, IDS/IPS configuration, firewall policy design, and traffic analysis with Wireshark. Worked with Metasploit, Burp Suite, and OpenVAS in real lab environments. Learning how systems are attacked so they can be built to last.
2023
Python Development
Self-taught
Went deep into Python — automation scripts, web scrapers, REST API integrations, and Telegram bots using aiogram. Moved into full-stack territory by connecting Python backends to web frontends and deploying on Linux servers.
2022
Web Design & Development
Self-taught
Started from scratch with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Built static sites, learned responsive layout, and got comfortable with the browser environment. This was the foundation — the moment I realized I could build anything on a screen.
